Mamma said, "Don't cross the road without looking. Be careful son, the world's a dangerous place." I always thought nothing bad would ever happen to me but I was wrong. As I lay here on the pavement everything is dark. I hear some people yelling and sirens all around. As I lay here on the pavement I think about my mamma's sweet face. Her rosy cheeks, her bright smile. I'm scared as I lay here on the hospital bed. I hear mamma crying and want to say it's ok. But my voice is weak and I can't move. I think of how I used to run and play and jump all around, but now I can't hear a sound. My body aches in pain as I lay here on the hospital bed. I think I'm dying. I'm not really scared...I know where I'm going. But I would really like to see my mamma one last time and tell her how much I love her. As I take my last breath I see my mamma's face and reach my arms out to her. I see the golden gates now...I think I am in heaven. I'm not sad anymore, nor ache inside. As I stand here in heaven, I hop and play once again...for the lord has healed my body and now I ache no more. |
