"Sun Shadow", by Ashley W.
Copyright © 1999-2000, Age 14

Your mane flashes across my mind in dream,
The pounding hooves were heard from miles away,
A view unlike any other I've seen,
The motion of you holds me in your sway.

Oh where is he whose view will block the sun?
And leave a shadow darkened on the ground.
Oh, where was I when he made that last run?
And disappeared from view without a sound.

A wrinkled map is all that I have here,
To find the one whose mane is like the wind.
Oh, lead me to the dream that I hold near.
Beside the brook we both shall bend,

Sun Shadow you're the one who'll always be
Standing close and strong Sun Shadow, with me.
