"I Still Love You", by Sylvia J.
Copyright © November 9, 2000, Age 17
Even though I haven't seen you for several years, last night I awoke crying and whispering your name.
I wish that I could just get over you. And heaven knows I have tried.
But just one word can send my mind into total recall.
I swore I didn't love you, even said I hated you.
It was a lie. A lie only to keep me from crying in pain
when you didn't write or seem to care.
You're so far away around others all day.
I didn't write this, for you to be angry
or act out of sympathy
instead all I wanted was to be by your side, hand and hand.
All I want now is just one kiss, one hug to say goodbye.
I never meant to love you still, never meant to cry.
