"A Spider’s Fear", by Robert S.
Copyright © 2000, Age 12
When people see me, I give them a fright.
Each door I walk to is slammed in my face.
I’m never taken in with a warm embrace.
If only they knew what I feel inside,
They’d hold me and put their anger aside.
Their size is as giants, to mine of a seed.
And my fear of them is greater indeed.
I dread to think of how I shall die,
Be it trodden or squashed, though you won’t hear my cry.
My spindly legs won’t save me for long.
You think I won’t suffer, you are terribly wrong.
