"The Stone of Othrarealm", by Maeve
Copyright © 2001, Age 16
For it is not I that binds it.
In its lovely, pale-lit way
It shouts to all who find it:
"Take me, take me!" its voice shrill cries,
Though ears alone shan’t heed it
Men’s consciences it does enthrall,
Each one craves, seeks and needs it.
"I am the stone of Othrarealm
Place of magic mists and fairy tales
These sweep o’er land and sea and sail
Past beauteous fields of emerald hair
A stone am I of good repute,
Show light the blind, make well the mute
Beyond the veil of things we see,
My world is wondrous mystery.
Take my life, in it place thine,
Hence forth you’ll learn of things Divine
For within my book, concealed in pages
The truth: I am the stone, the Rock of Ages."
