"All So Perfect?", a Short Story Segment by Katy4 Copyright © 2001
It wasn't as though there were any signs of it. We were perfect, we were a perfect circle, we had no ending, just one whole! Or so I thought.
Love has no boundaries so he said to me. Well I agreed and so we'd meet once in a while and deliver our thoughts and words passionately.
We were the ideal couple so our friends used to say, now he chooses today to do this to me, one of my mates said "Do you think he's gay?", no I said, I don't!
They say chalk and cheese and I say a lover who brought the other to their knees, on the phone. The cold heartless way of doing it, then to pretend that the battery had run out near the sorrowful end.
I sat there, the stone cold receiver in my hand and sat there shaking wondering if my actions all hadn't been good and right. They had. We were perfect two days beforehand, holding hands, well not skimming stones, but if they'd been there...
Now its gone. Gone down the telephone wires and lost in my living room. Dead as the tone on the phone after he hung up on me!
