"Love's Reminiscent Nature", by Sara Scott
Copyright © 2001 Age 19

I can still see
His handsome face.
Two blue eyes
Gleam lovingly upon mine.
He graciously smiles
As he gently caresses my cheek.
The warmth of his hand
Sends shivers through my skin,
While my heart is ignited
With flames of maddening desire.
He quickly enfolds me in his arms,
Whispering the three words
That every woman longs to hear,
"I love you!"

I still love him
Though he is no longer mine.
I do not see his eyes,
Instead I see the luminescent stars
Gleaming longingly in the twilight sky.
I do not feel the gentle caress of his hand.
Instead I feel a river of tears
Falling from my eyes,
Streaming down my shameful face.

I do not hear the words
I long to hear.
Instead I hear the wind
Mourning in the distance.
It calls to me as it tries to comfort me.
I can still see his handsome face!
