"The Meaning of Life", by LaTasha Saffold
Copyright © 1997 Age 21
Is not promised to proceed tomorrow
Though we constantly take for granted
A rich man's wealth is a poor man's sorrow.
We consistently try to compete
With what God does not intend competition
As a result, we suffer from confusion
And we lack comprehension.
No one understands why a man cries
Until they themselves shed tears
But yet we still depend on others
To overcome our fears.
Everyone battles for first place
When in reality no one can truly win
Your trophy depends on what you put in life now
that will determine what you accomplish in the end.
Our life, though we do not own
Is precious in so many ways
Don't count the times that you did wrong
But count the good of your days.
For in the end you will be judged
And God will appoint you to your destiny
Don't worry about the little but fear of the great
Which is God who holds your eternity.
