"Blind Eyes", by Sana Kakkar Copyright © April 18, 2001 Age 26
Lost in your love, this heart of mine
Painted a picture in my eyes,
Of you in just very little time
As perfect as the blue of the skies.
It wasn’t something very wise
As I meant nothing to you
But as you know, no rule applies
To love and feelings that are true.
Observantly and sharply as I can see
Details of every little thing...
But blind when it comes to you and me
Ignoring the truth that the reality brings.
You never noticed so you will never know
What you really mean to me
The love in my eyes you chose to ignore
Will always be here, no matter with whom you’ll be.
While I keep watching you
You look for the one who was away
Blindly I continue to love you
Even though you are more aloof with every passing day.
You can laugh, pretend; I know you want me not
Can hurt me as much as you wish...
These eyes only see goodness in you and you cannot
Break this picture of my heavenly bliss.
My eyes have been searching for you
For over a lifetime or even before
Heart always had hope and believed you to be true,
And here you are, so can I ask for more?
I miss you and my heart cries
Just to be with you for a little while.
I see your reflection as I close my eyes
And it brings tears and lots of smiles.
Sometimes I feel I have left my eyes
Even though unwanted by you
On your shoulder, near where my heart lies
They sit there, just admiring you.
You don’t want, but I’ll always love you
And pray that like a star you shine
If you feel watched and have no clue
It will be these blind eyes of mine.
