"Fog", by Denise Martin
Copyright © 2000, Age 41

I was driving through a fog today,
and realized it was my mind
I could not see ahead of me
and I could not see behind.

It was a never ending tunnel
and I tried to get out
I became so scared
that I began to shout.

I don't like not being able to see where I'm going
as things pass me by
and just keep moving

A flash of light here
a streak of blue there
I need to slow down
and take in some air

Breath deep, nice and slow
open your eyes
and go with the flow
fore it is not my mind
that's in the fog
it is the fog that's
in my mind...
