"Sole Breath", by Dennise Knowles Copyright © 2000, Age 33
If I had one breath left
I would live it like it was a million
Standing under the peerless waterfall
Soaking in the scene
Beautiful trees enriched in color
A sky clear making you believe in miles
Creatures so unique that they confuse you
I would unlock
My memories hidden away for a diverse moment
As they flash by me…. likeness so unreal
I could reach out and touch every life that has touched mine
If I had one breath left
I would believe in fairy tales
For my prince would take my hand leading me into forever
Then I would ache from the euphoria held deep inside
I would feel the density under my feet from the rose petals
Laid upon the ground by my love
My smile would take away the torch inside my heart
Nevermore would I be alone inside my soul
If I had one breath left
I would breathe it with you
For without you I would not experience solitary
But a duration of emptiness
You would be my waterfall, my vision & fairy tale
I could live that breath forever inside my sanity
Because of you I would embrace in only one breath!!!
