"Angel Eyes", by Rhonda Shetters
Copyright © 2001, Age 35
I see the frustration in your eyes loom back at me.
I look at you when you run and play with a glow upon your face.
I think about what's on your mind and an idea I don't have to trace.
I look at you when your hurt or mad and it goes so deep it seems.
I wonder sometimes if the anger is in your dreams.
I look at you when you're asleep and you look so peaceful inside.
I guess you're having special thoughts about things you like to hide.
I look at you and wonder how you act the way you do.
Because to me you'll always be my angel eyes and that I know is true.
